Tools & Capabilities

Everything the Agellic agent can do: search, lookup, screen, compare across marketplaces, and manage background jobs

Agellic is a conversational interface to the Keepa API. You describe what you want in plain English and the agent selects the right tool, sets the parameters, and presents the results. This page covers every tool available and when to use each one.

Search (Finder)

The finder tool searches for products matching specific criteria across any Amazon marketplace. You can filter by price, sales rank, category, review count, Buy Box share, price trends, stock levels, and more.

When to use it: You want to discover products you don't already know about.

Example queries:

  • "Find Kitchen products under $30 with 4+ stars on US"
  • "Find products where Amazon has the Buy Box less than 30% of the time in Canada"
  • "Find Electronics with sales rank under 50,000 where the price dropped more than 20% in the last 30 days"

Key details:

  • Keepa returns a maximum of 10,000 ASINs per search. The agent will help you refine filters if your search is too broad.
  • Results include basic product data (price, BSR, category). For full analytics, follow up with a product lookup.
  • Always specify the marketplace. Results default to US if not specified.

Be specific with filters. "Find products in Home & Kitchen" returns too many results. "Find Home & Kitchen products under $25 with 4+ stars and sales rank under 100,000 on US" gives you a workable list.

Product Lookup

The lookup tool fetches detailed product data for specific ASINs or product codes. There are two modes:

  • Display mode shows product cards with price, BSR, reviews, and key metrics. Good for browsing a set of products.
  • Analyze mode runs the full analytics suite: demand estimation, price trends, competition analysis, Buy Box volatility, and more. Good for evaluating individual products.

When to use it: You have specific ASINs and want detailed data or analysis.

Example queries:

  • "Show me the details for B09V3KXJPB on US"
  • "Analyze B08N5WRWNW on Canada"
  • "Look up these ASINs: B08N5WRWNW, B09V3KXJPB, B07ZPKN6YR"
  • "Find the product with UPC 673419375863"

Key details:

  • Batch lookups support up to 50 ASINs at once. Larger batches run as background jobs.
  • Lookups work with ASINs, UPCs, and EANs.
  • Product data is not cached indefinitely. If you find something worth tracking, save it to a list so you can refresh the data later.

Screening

The screening tool runs a lightweight check on a batch of ASINs against criteria you define. It fetches less data per product than a full lookup, making it faster and cheaper for large lists.

When to use it: You have a large set of ASINs (from a finder search or your own research) and want to narrow it down before committing to full lookups.

Example queries:

  • "Screen these products for buy box share under 50% and sales rank under 100,000"
  • "Check which of these ASINs have stable pricing"
  • "Filter this list to products selling over 50 units per month"

Key details:

  • Screening costs 3 tokens per ASIN (vs 9 for a full enriched lookup).
  • Large screening jobs run in the background. You will be notified when they complete.
  • Use screening as a filter step: search first, screen to narrow, then do full lookups on your shortlist.

Cross-Border Resolution

Two distinct tools for comparing products across Amazon marketplaces.

Quick Code Lookup

For a single product or small batch, the agent resolves the UPC/EAN to find the matching listing on another marketplace. This runs inline and returns results immediately.

Example queries:

  • "What's the US equivalent of this Canadian ASIN: B09V3KXJPB?"
  • "Find this product on the UK marketplace"
  • "Look up UPC 673419375863 on Germany"

Bulk Cross-Border Resolution

For larger sets (typically 50+ ASINs), the agent runs a background job that resolves every ASIN to the target marketplace, fetches pricing data on both sides, and presents the comparison.

Example queries:

  • "Resolve my watchlist from US to Canada"
  • "Compare these 150 ASINs between US and UK"
  • "Find the Canadian prices for all products in my Electronics list"

Key details:

  • Resolution works via UPC/EAN codes. Products without universal codes in Keepa's data cannot be matched.
  • Not every product is listed in every marketplace. The agent reports which products could not be matched.
  • Bulk resolution is token-intensive (up to 12 tokens per ASIN). Large jobs are queued and processed as tokens refill.
  • Prices are returned in each marketplace's local currency. The agent uses approximate exchange rates for comparison. Always verify current rates before making sourcing decisions.

Start with a focused list of 20-50 strong candidates rather than resolving hundreds of products. You can always expand once you have validated the opportunity.

Background Jobs

Some operations take longer than a single chat response. When this happens, the agent runs the work as a background job. You can keep chatting while it processes.

Operations that run as background jobs:

  • Large product lookups (50+ ASINs)
  • Screening jobs
  • Bulk cross-border resolution (50+ ASINs)
  • Saved list refreshes
  • Saved search refreshes

How it works:

  1. The agent tells you a job has been queued and gives you an estimated wait time.
  2. You can keep chatting or close your browser. Jobs continue processing on the server.
  3. When a job completes, a notification card appears in the chat. Click "Show Results" to have the agent present them.
  4. Failed or cancelled jobs are reported to the agent automatically so it can let you know what happened.

You can check the status of any running job by asking: "What's the status of my jobs?" or "Is my search done yet?"

Token Balance

You can check your Keepa token balance at any time:

  • "What's my token balance?"
  • "How many tokens do I have?"

The agent will tell you your current balance, refill rate, and estimated time to full capacity. For a detailed breakdown of what each operation costs, see the Keepa Tokens guide.
