Getting Started

Set up your Keepa API key and make your first product search

Welcome to Agellic AI! This guide will help you set up your account and make your first product search using natural language.

What You'll Need

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • A Keepa account with an active API subscription
  • Your Keepa API key (found in your Keepa account settings)

Don't have a Keepa API subscription yet? Visit keepa.com to sign up. A 20 tokens per minute subscription is required to effectively use Agellic.

Step 1: Connect Your Keepa API Key

After signing up for Agellic AI:

  1. Navigate to Settings from the sidebar
  2. Find the API Key section
  3. Enter your Keepa API key
  4. Enter your refill rate (tokens per minute)
  5. Click Save

Your API key is encrypted and stored securely. We never see or store your key in plain text.

Your API key is only used to make requests on your behalf. You maintain full control of your Keepa account and can revoke access at any time.

Step 2: Understanding Tokens

Keepa uses a token-based system for API requests. Your tokens refill every minute based on your Keepa subscription level.

Typical token costs:

  • Product lookups — 5 tokens per product
  • Finder searches — 40 tokens + 1 token per 100 results

The token balance bar in Agellic shows your current available tokens. Agellic keeps a small reserve available for quick lookups while larger jobs run in the background.

Step 3: How Background Jobs Work

When you request detailed product data for many items, Agellic runs it as a background job. This means:

  • You can keep chatting while the job processes
  • Progress updates appear in the chat
  • Once fetched, product data is saved for future reference

Finder searches Agellic can fetch a maximum of 10,000 ASINs (Keepa API limit). The agent will help you intellligently refine your search below this limit before fetching the results. Product detail lookups for lists over 200 ASINs will take time depending on your Keepa plan, but data is cached once fetched.

Step 4: Make Your First Search

Now you're ready to search! Simply type a natural language query in the chat:

Example queries:

  • "Find wireless earbuds under $50 with at least 4 stars"
  • "Show me the product details for ASIN B09V3KXJPB in Canada"
  • "Find products in the Kitchen category to target for Amazon to Amazon flips in the US."

Be specific about what you're looking for. Include details like price range, category, rating, or sales rank for better results. Always include the domain (marketplace) you want to search in. i.e Canada. Currently Agellic can only search root categories. Deep category tree search is coming very soon!
